One of the biggest differences between great ball strikers and high handicappers is the clubshaft angle through impact.
High handicappers often ‘flip’ their wrists causing the club head to pass ahead of their hands through the hitting zone which releases the stored energy in the club shaft, and lofts the club creating ‘fat’ shots, ‘thin’ shots or, at very best, high short shots.
The ‘Flip’ (wrong!) The Power ‘Angle’ (correct!)In contrast, the best players in the world have the ability to store energy in the club through the creation and maintenance of the proper shaft angles (club shaft forward lean or ‘power’ angle) through impact so their hands are actually positioned ahead of the clubhead.
